Today marks the start of a very special raffle to help a Shumate family that lost everything in a house fire. This is a special opportunity for our entire school community to come together and help a fellow Seahawk family in need! Raffle tickets will be sold everyday, between the following dates: today, February 26th - March 8th. Tickets will cost $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00. Students will select which drawing they would like to enter. The following are the drawing options: $50.00 Target Gift Card $50.00 Emagine Gift Card Principal for the day Teacher for the day (students can shadow a teacher of their choice) First in Line at Lunch for the rest of the school year Stanley Tumbler Shumate’s Student Council will come around during Advisory to sell tickets. The parent group has planned another activity night for our students on February 6th 6:30-8:00pm! 📌The event ends promptly at 8:00pm so please have transportation for your student present & ready to pick them up at that time! 📌Please be sure to have your student bring their school ID with them to the event to speed up the admissions process. 📌Concessions are not included in admission price! **While supplies last** There will be pizza slices, drinks, snacks, candy. Thank you to all of the Shumate families who were generous enough to donate and to those who tried but it just filled up too fast! We were able to box meals up for 10 families to have a Thanksgiving feast. It would not have been possible without Mrs. Tracy’s efforts and your kindness!! We give thanks to YOU 🙏🏽

Costumes are not allowed on Halloween, but are encouraged for the 10/30 Halloween Activity Night on Monday. We do, however, have a whole week of school spirit fun to look forward to next week. ATTENTION SEAHAWK FAMILIES! The yearbooks are SOLD OUT!! Yearbooks have been distributed. If you purchased a yearbook for your student and they have not received it, have them see Mrs. Walchak as soon as possible. Those on the waiting list will be contacted if a yearbook becomes available by Friday.

We are wrapping up our round of M-STEP testing for the year, and we could not be more proud of all the students who worked so hard! Our students are constantly striving to be the best they can be! Keep it up Seahawks!

Today our 8th Grade Seahawks traveled out to the Wayne County Community College District campus in Taylor to experience a day full of exploring all of the career and technical education programs offered by the Downriver Career Technical Consortium!
