Reminder: Picture Retakes are Tomorrow (10/28/2024)
Hello Weiss Families,
This is a reminder that Fall Picture Retakes are scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, October 28th.
Only students whose families request a retake will have their pictures taken. If you previously purchased a picture package and would like a retake, please send the original picture package to school with your child. Students eligible for retakes include those who:
- Were absent on the original picture day,
- Have informed their teacher about wanting a retake,
- Notify the office about wanting a retake
- Bring their original picture package to school.
If you have any questions, feel free to call Mrs. Hunter at 734-379-7060.

We are so happy to have a Watch D.O.G. today!

Hello Families,
We want to inform you that our Weiss Wildcat Warrior Challenge has been rescheduled to November 14th. It will not take place tomorrow.
The decision to reschedule stems from the campaign starting later than we had anticipated, which could partly explain the current lower registration and fundraising totals. By extending the timeframe for registration and fundraising, we hope to better support our PTO in reaching its fundraising goals and ensuring a successful budget for this year.
A new volunteer link will be shared soon, so please keep an eye out for that. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us at weisselementarypto@gmail.com.
Thank you for your understanding and support!
Best,
Weiss Elementary PTO

It's Autumn Break! See you back on Wednesday!

Today we kicked off our Peer-to-Peer program, linking students together for peer modeling and accepting neurodiversity. The upper elementary links met their peers today and wrote about good friendship traits.
#PeerToPeer

Our WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program kicked off today, and we’re thrilled to welcome our very first Watch DOG of the year! 🐾
Thank you for being a positive role model and helping create a safe and fun learning environment for our students. Let’s make it a fantastic year together! 💙

📣 Reminder: There’s a PTO meeting tonight at 6 PM! 🗓️ NHS students from Carlson will be on-site to watch the kiddos, so parents can attend the meeting worry-free. Hope to see you there! 😊

Unity Day - 10/16/2024
Wednesday 10/16 is Unity day & we'd like to encourage all of our Weiss students to wear orange to help celebrate! If you don’t have an orange shirt, you can wear one that promotes kindness, acceptance, or inclusion, or any other shirt that helps remind you to be kind for any reason that resonates with you!
Unity Day is an annual event occurring during National Bullying Prevention Month that promotes joining together to create healthier communities through kindness, acceptance of difference, and inclusion.
Why unity? For years, bullying was justified with expressions such as, “Bullying is a natural part of childhood,” “Bullying makes kids tougher,” or “Bullying is a rite of passage.” The goal of Unity Day is to bring together youth, parents, educators, businesses, and community members across the nation to emphasize the message that bullying is not acceptable, and that all students deserve to be safe in school, online, and in the community
Why the color orange? Unity Day is celebrated in October, and orange is a color commonly identified with the month and the autumn season. It is also a color that is associated with safety and visibility. It is a color described as warm and inviting, and its vibrancy makes an impactful statement.
Why just a day? The event provides a catalyst for everyone to come together with a visual statement that our actions matter not only on one day, but every day.
